Mike started off with some cheap mail order amplifiers, and they were terrible. He's now wearing hearing aids and they are MUCH BETTER! He explains some of the differences, and why he feels amplifiers are a "gimmick".
Joe is new to hearing aids, and he's be very pleased with how they are working for him. He shares some of his experiences with the new Signia AX rechargeable hearing aids.
Ester has really enjoyed her new CROS system. CROS stands for “Contralateral Routing of Signal” and is a fancy way to say it takes sound on the side of the poor ear, and puts it into the ear with better hearing. The benefit is that it can give better access to sound for a patient who has single sided deafness or a profound unilateral hearing loss. It’s a great way to be able to have a conversation with someone who is sitting on your “bad ear” side.
